What an EICR covers
The consumer unit, every circuit and accessible accessory is tested. We measure insulation resistance, earth loop impedance and RCD trip times. We open up a sample of sockets and light fittings to check termination. We also look at earthing and bonding to gas, water and oil where present.
What the codes mean
- C1 — Danger present. Immediate remedial action required.
- C2 — Potentially dangerous. Urgent remedial action required.
- C3 — Improvement recommended, not unsatisfactory.
- FI — Further investigation needed without delay.
A report with any C1, C2 or FI is classed as unsatisfactory. Landlords have 28 days from the report date to put it right, and we can quote remedial work at the same time as the report.
What you receive
A full NICEIC-style report as a PDF within 48 hours, plus a printed copy if you want one. If remedial works are needed, a separate fixed-price quote — take it or leave it, no pressure.
