Who we are
Sandwich Electrical is a trading name of NordSys Electrical Ltd, based in Sandwich, Kent. The site is sandwichelectrical.co.uk. Contact: hello@sandwichelectrical.co.uk.
What we collect
- Name, address, postcode, town, phone number, email, and the job description you submit through the contact form.
- Messages, photos and call details you send us by WhatsApp, phone or email.
- Anything you type into the website chat, with the date and time.
- Photos you upload in the website chat.
- Basic server access logs (IP and user agent) kept by our host for security.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry, quote the work, carry out and invoice the job, and keep the installation records required by BS 7671. Legal basis: legitimate interest for replies and performance of a contract once a job is agreed.
How long we keep it
Job records and certificates are kept for at least six years after the work is done, in line with HMRC expectations. We keep a record of enquiries, chats and our dealings with you. If you would like your own record deleted, contact us at hello@sandwichelectrical.co.uk and we will do it.
Who else sees it
Our own team, and service providers who process it for us on our instructions only: our website hosting provider, our email delivery service and, if you use the website chat, the technology and AI providers described under Website chat. WhatsApp (Meta) carries messages you send us on WhatsApp under its own terms. Paper certificates may be sent to your local authority where Building Regulations notification applies. We do not sell or rent contact details to anyone.
Website chat
If you use the chat on our website you are talking to an AI assistant, and our team can read the conversation and step in. We store the conversation, the date and time, and anything you tell us in it (including a name, phone number, email address or address if you give one). We use it to answer your enquiry, to arrange work and quotes, to keep a record of what was said, and to keep the service secure and working.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries from the public (and, if you ask for a job, taking steps at your request before a contract). The conversation is handled for us by our technology and AI service providers, who process it on our instructions only. The provider may handle data outside the UK. We do not use your chat to make any decision about you solely by automated means.
If a chat leads to a job or quote, the job record is kept as set out elsewhere in this notice. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your chat by emailing hello@sandwichelectrical.co.uk, and you can object to our use of it. You can complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk. The chat uses a session identifier that is needed for it to work; it is not used for tracking.
If you upload a photo, it may be analysed by our AI assistant and sent to our AI service provider, which may handle it outside the UK.
WhatsApp, phone and email
If you message us on WhatsApp, an AI assistant may read and reply to your message, and our team can step in. It is handled by the same service providers described under Website chat, including the point about processing outside the UK and the safeguards still being completed. Phone calls are taken by a person, and email is read by our team. We keep WhatsApp conversations while we are dealing with your enquiry or job. If a conversation leads to a job, the job record is kept as set out elsewhere in this notice. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your messages, and you can object to our use of them, by emailing hello@sandwichelectrical.co.uk.
Your rights
You can ask to see a copy of what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted. Email the address above and we will reply within a month. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Website statistics
We count visits to this site, for statistics only, using our own counting tool. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, any campaign label in the link you used, your country (approximate) and whether the visitor looks like a person or a robot. To count unique visitors it uses an identifier. We do not share this data with anyone except our hosting provider, which stores it on our behalf. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If you click 'Don't count my visits' in the footer, we remember your choice in this browser with one small local-storage flag called na_ignore; our counter stores nothing else in your browser. You can object at any time using the link in the footer, or contact us at hello@sandwichelectrical.co.uk. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our site.

The site itself does not set tracking cookies. Embedded YouTube how-to videos may set cookies if you click play - that is YouTube, not us.
